About the Opportunity

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as a Unit Aide. Reporting to the Health Services Manager, this role plays a vital part in maintaining a safe environment for patients and staff.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ordering, stocking, and maintaining all supplies and equipment in their designated work area. This includes understanding the basic principles of infection control to prevent cross-contamination and ensure a clean working environment.

As a Unit Aide, you will provide indirect and direct support for patient care, ensuring that patients receive high-quality service and attention.

About You

  • You have a Grade 12 education and possess previous experience in a similar role, which is an asset.
  • You have demonstrated an understanding of the importance of cleanliness in a hospital setting and can maintain a tidy workspace.
  • You are proficient in using computer programs and possess effective communication skills, including tactfulness and diplomacy when interacting with patients, visitors, and colleagues.
  • You are able to establish good relationships, use good judgment, and demonstrate initiative in your work.
  • You possess physical capabilities to perform the duties of the position and are comfortable working in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
  • Bilingualism, particularly in French, is an asset but not required.

Hours of Work

  • This is a permanent part-time position, with 53% FTE (39.75 hours bi-weekly).

Compensation and Incentives

The hourly rate for this position is $19.90 - $21.53. As a valued employee, you may be eligible for our comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
