About the Opportunity

As a Safety Assistant, you will provide confidential support to the Infectious Disease Prevention & Management team under the direction of the Manager. Your activities will include supporting Occupational Health Nurses during pre-placement health assessments, communicable disease prevention and management, and respiratory protection education and training.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • A Post-Secondary diploma in Occupational Health & Safety or a related field; an undergraduate degree is an asset.
  • Excellent computer skills, familiarity with enterprise software systems, and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Well-developed abilities and skills in modern office practices, with strong organizational and team skills, decision-making, problem-solving, motivational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively determine day-to-day priorities and utilize foresight to ensure appropriate activities for self and recommendations for team members.
  • Competencies in other languages are an asset, with French being preferred.
Compensation and Benefits

The successful candidate will be offered a competitive salary ranging from $22.34 to $27.93 per hour, depending on experience. They may also be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
