Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and safety-conscious individual to join our team as a Part-Time Deck Attendant at Branksome Hall's Athletics and Wellness Centre. As a key member of our aquatic team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of all students and patrons using our swimming pools.

Key Responsibilities
  • Pool Safety and Maintenance: Ensure the pool area is safe and clean, and perform routine maintenance tasks as required.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service to swimmers and patrons, and respond to their needs in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Support Instructional Swimming Lessons: Assist swim instructors with implementing lesson plans, evaluating student progress, and maintaining a safe and supportive learning environment.
  • Emergency Response: Be prepared to respond to emergencies and provide first aid as needed.
  • Facility Inspections: Conduct regular facility inspections to identify and report any maintenance or safety issues.
  • Administrative Tasks: Assist with administrative tasks, such as taking attendance, logging information, and completing reports.
Requirements
  • Age Requirement: Must be at least 14 years old.
  • Certifications: Hold a current Bronze Cross and Standard First Aid & CPR 'C' certification.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Demonstrate knowledge and practice of lifesaving and cardiopulmonary resuscitation and first aid, and possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Physical Demands: Be able to move, lift, carry, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 40 pounds without assistance, and stand, sit, or walk for extended periods.
Working Conditions

Work in a fast-paced aquatic environment, with varying temperatures and humidity levels. Must be able to move over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces.

Compensation

$17.20 per hour.
