Job Title: Pool Attendant

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Pool Attendant at Branksome Hall's Athletics and Wellness Centre. As a key member of our aquatic team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of our students and patrons while providing exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the safety of all students and patrons using the swimming pools.
  • Maintain direct contact with swimmers and communicate effectively.
  • Support instructional swimming lessons to various age groups.
  • Assist Swim Instructors and Deck Supervisors with lesson plans and evaluations.
  • Perform first aid as needed and be a member of a first responder team in case of an emergency.
  • Monitor designated pool areas and maintain cleanliness.
  • Report on required maintenance and perform related work.
  • Conduct facility inspections and complete opening and closing checklists.
  • Perform administrative tasks, including taking attendance and logging information into our online database.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 14 years of age.
  • Current Bronze Cross and Standard First Aid & CPR 'C' certification.
  • Knowledge and practice of Lifesaving and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and First Aid.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to problem solve effectively and work independently.
  • Ability to work as part of a team with diverse ages and demographic groups.

Working Conditions:

  • Required to move, lift, carry, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 40 pounds without assistance.
  • Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period or for an entire shift.
  • Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, and pulling.
  • Move over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces.

Wage: $17.20/hour
