About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Butcher to join our team at 2461479 Ontario Inc. as a Meat Cutter in a retail setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cut meats to order for customers
  • Clean and trim carcasses, sides, and quarters
  • Operate manual cutting utensils, power grinders, and slicing machines
  • Wrap and package prepared meats for sale
  • Remove bones from meat and cut poultry into parts
  • Price and sell meat products to customers
  • Supervise and train other butchers and meat cutters
  • Grind meats and prepare special sausages
  • Prepare displays of meats, poultry, and fish products
  • Shape, lace, and tie roasts and other meats
Work Environment

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced retail environment with a combination of sitting, standing, and walking. The role requires standing for extended periods and handling heavy loads.

Requirements
  • 1-2 years of experience in a similar role
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Attention to detail and ability to work accurately
  • Physical stamina to handle heavy loads and stand for extended periods
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
