Key Responsibilities
  • Cutting and Preparing Meats
    • Clean and prepare meats for processing or cutting
    • Cut carcasses, sides, and quarters to meet customer demands
    • Prepare special cuts of meat ordered by customers
  • Meat Sales and Customer Service
    • Price and sell meats to customers
    • Provide exceptional customer service and respond to customer inquiries
  • Store Operations
    • Wrap and package prepared meats
    • Remove bones from meat
    • Weigh meats for sale
  • Team Collaboration
    • Supervise and train other butchers, meat cutters, and fishmongers
    • Work collaboratively with the retail team to achieve sales goals and maintain a clean and organized store environment
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • No degree, certificate, or diploma required
    • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a retail or butcher shop environment
  • Work Environment
    • Work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
    • Fast-paced environment with a combination of sitting, standing, and walking
    • Standing for extended periods and handling heavy loads
  • Personal Qualities
    • Client-focused and dependable
    • Flexible and organized with strong attention to detail
    • Team player with excellent communication skills
Working Conditions

This is a permanent, full-time position with 35 hours of work per week. The language of work is English.
