The Acute Care Medicine Unit for Older Adults is an expanded service of Geriatric Medicine on 9C/D. The care model meets the growing needs of care for the older adult population with acute illnesses.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and treat patients with undifferentiated diseases, disorders, and conditions within the Nurse Practitioner's scope of practice.
- Provide first-line care in emergencies and continuous care.
- Monitor ongoing care, order appropriate screening diagnostic investigations, and interpret reports of investigations.
- Establish priorities for management of health, diseases, disorders, and conditions, and provide follow-up treatment.
- Communicate with patients and families about health findings, diagnoses, and priorities, outcomes, and prognoses.

- Competitive Salary: Salary Range is $113,195 - $162,718, depending on NP experience.

About You:
- Current registration as a Nurse Practitioner with the British Columbia College of Nursing Professionals.
- Successful completion or awaiting results of the Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE).
- Completion of the Basic Cardiac Life Support Course, Level C.
