First Cook Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced First Cook to join our culinary team at the Four Points by Sheraton - Kelowna Airport. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for preparing and plating dishes to the highest standards, working closely with the Executive Chef and other culinary staff to ensure top-quality service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and plate dishes for service, adhering to the Chef's recipes and portion sizes.
  • Work collaboratively with the culinary team to produce high-quality dishes consistently and quickly.
  • Support the rest of the culinary team to ensure exceptional service.
  • Assist with food tracking and control as requested by the Chef.
  • Properly label, store, and rotate food items to minimize waste.
  • Maintain the quality of all food prepared with the Chef de Partie on duty.
  • Ensure the kitchen area is clean and organized, adhering to B.C. Health standards.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
Requirements:
  • Positive attitude and good communication skills.
  • Food Safe Certificate required.
  • Minimum of 2 years first cook experience in a fast-paced hotel restaurant.
  • WHMIS training.
