About the Job:

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Chef to lead our corporate kitchen team at Sodexo Canada Ltd. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for the successful coordination and direction of food production, menu planning, and inventory management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and direct the production of food for the staff cafeteria, ensuring high-quality dishes and exceptional customer service.
  • Support daily food production, including menu planning, purchasing, inventory management, and cost control.
  • Assist with managing financials for the food program, including labor costs, food costs, and inventory management.
  • Supervise and monitor kitchen leadership teams, evaluating performance to ensure a high level of productivity and best use of team member capabilities.
  • Ensure that food service objectives are achieved, establishing operating standards and implementing quality improvements.
  • Engage with internal resources to utilize and share Sodexo innovations, leading and endorsing culinary programs aligned with our Sustainability commitments.
  • Oversee catering functions and special events for internal and external clients/groups, ensuring compliance with all Company standards and Provincial/Federal Legislation.

Qualifications:

  • Red Seal Certification
  • 2-3 years' experience in a Chef role, with a proven track record of leading high-performing teams and driving culinary excellence.
  • Ability to lead and inspire teams to deliver on high safety and food quality standards, while also driving innovation and improvement.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and Legislative Policies and Procedures.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, team-centric, and safety-driven environment.
  • Proven organizational skills and strong computer capabilities, including Microsoft Office use.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with customers, clients, and staff at all levels.
