Key Responsibilities:- Hire and Train Staff: Recruit, train, and develop a team of produce staff to ensure they have the skills and knowledge to provide excellent customer service and maintain a high level of product quality.
- Merchandise Management: Order and receive merchandise, authorize returns, and maintain accurate inventory levels to ensure that our customers have access to a wide range of fresh produce.
- Scheduling and Reporting: Establish work schedules, prepare reports on sales volumes, merchandising, and personnel matters to inform business decisions and drive growth.
- Customer Service and Conflict Resolution: Resolve customer complaints and issues in a professional and courteous manner, ensuring that our customers feel valued and supported.
- Inventory Management: Organize and maintain inventory levels, ensuring that our customers have access to a wide range of fresh produce and that our stock levels are optimized.
- Team Supervision and Development: Supervise and coordinate the activities of produce staff, providing guidance and support to ensure that they have the skills and knowledge to excel in their roles.
- Performance Reviews: Conduct regular performance reviews to assess staff performance, provide feedback, and identify areas for improvement.
- Physical Demands: The Produce Department Supervisor will be required to stand for extended periods, walk, and handle heavy loads.
- Organizational Skills: The ideal candidate will be highly organized, with excellent time management and prioritization skills.
- Reliability: A strong sense of reliability and accountability is essential for this role, as the Produce Department Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring that our customers receive the highest quality products and exceptional customer service.
- Team Player: The ability to work effectively as part of a team is crucial, as the Produce Department Supervisor will be responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of produce staff.
- Excellent Communication Skills: The ideal candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with customers, staff, and management.
- Education: A secondary (high) school graduation certificate is required.
- Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a produce department or related field is preferred.
- Accessibility and Inclusion: The Produce Department Supervisor will be responsible for providing awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment for persons with disabilities.
- Support for Newcomers and Refugees: The ideal candidate will be able to recruit and support newcomers and refugees who were displaced by a conflict or natural disaster.
