Produce Department Supervisor

Freshco Coliseum 8968 is seeking a highly organized and reliable Produce Department Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our produce department, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our produce section, ensuring that our customers receive the highest quality products and exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities:- Hire, train, and supervise a team of produce staff to ensure excellent customer service and efficient operations.
- Order and manage inventory of produce products, ensuring that stock levels are maintained and that products are rotated regularly.
- Authorize returns and resolve customer complaints in a timely and professional manner.
- Establish and maintain work schedules to ensure adequate staffing levels during peak periods.
- Prepare and present sales reports, merchandising plans, and personnel matters to management.
- Identify and resolve issues that may arise, including customer requests, complaints, and supply shortages.
- Organize and maintain inventory, ensuring that products are stored and displayed in a clean and safe manner.
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of produce staff, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Conduct performance reviews to ensure that staff are meeting performance expectations.
- Handling heavy loads and standing for extended periods.
- Walking and standing for long periods.
- Organized and reliable with excellent communication skills.
- Team player with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Provides awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment for persons with disabilities.
- Recruits newcomers and/or refugees who were displaced by a conflict or a natural disaster.
- Provides awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment for youth.
- Recruits Veterans and other candidates with military experience through targeted hiring initiatives.
- Facilitates access to Elders who can offer support and guidance to Indigenous workers.
- Applies hiring policies that discourage age discrimination.
- Applies hiring policies that discourage discrimination against members of visible minorities.
