Job Summary

The Electrical Systems Specialist is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of electrical systems within the production environment at Septodont. This includes building and production equipment, as well as plant computerized building automation systems.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoots and maintains electrical production equipment, including PLCs, servo drives, and motion controllers.
  • Repairs and maintains low-voltage electrical building equipment and systems, including generators, transformers, switchgear, and VFDs.
  • Uses test instruments to diagnose problems and determine electrical load and power quality.
  • Updates electrical drawings for facility and production equipment.
  • Coordinates electrical equipment changes and modifications.
  • Executes preventative maintenance activities for electrical systems.
  • Participates in maintenance shutdown activities.
  • Provides electrical and automation expertise to users and other maintenance staff.
  • Arranges for contracted services and supervises electrical work.
  • Recognizes and anticipates problems, and takes necessary actions to reduce impact on production schedules.
  • Ensures electrical work is completed according to codes and standards.
  • Writes and maintains electrical Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Spearheads continuous improvement in electrical systems.
  • Supports maintenance and validation departments.

Education

  • Post-secondary education in a relevant discipline from a recognized academic institution is required.

Experience

  • Expert knowledge in maintaining electrical systems within a manufacturing environment.
  • Advanced knowledge in Allen Bradley, Siemens PLCs, servo/motion controllers, and VFDs.
  • Understanding of electrical utility systems for facilities and production equipment.
  • Proven ability to read and interpret electrical and control drawings.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of GMP and other related regulations.
  • Safety-focused with knowledge of safety regulations.
  • Ability to work under pressure and tight timeframes.
  • Effective organizational, time management, and detail-orientation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Proven analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
