About the Role:
The BC SPCA is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Animal Care Attendant to join our team at our shelter. As a key member of our animal care team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional care and attention to the animals in our shelter.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide daily care and maintenance of animal enclosures, including cleaning, feeding, and providing fresh water.
- Assist with animal intake, including receiving and processing animals for adoption.
- Support front office staff with administrative tasks, such as answering phones and responding to inquiries.
- Collaborate with other team members to maintain a clean and safe environment for animals and staff.
- Perform other duties as required to ensure the smooth operation of the shelter.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Class N or 5 BC Drivers' License and driver's abstract.
- Philosophical harmony with the mission, vision, and strategic direction of the BC SPCA.
- Demonstrated interest in animal welfare and a strong desire to provide excellent customer service.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
