Halton Healthcare is seeking a skilled and dedicated professional to join our Emergency Department team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for assessing the needs of and providing treatment to adult and pediatric patients requiring care in the Emergency Department.
Key Responsibilities- Assess patient needs and develop treatment plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
- Provide high-quality patient care, including administering medications, performing procedures, and coordinating with other healthcare professionals.
- Participate in emergency department operations, including triage, patient flow, and resource allocation.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care and timely referrals or admissions.
- Contribute to a positive and supportive team environment, promoting a culture of respect, compassion, and accountability.
- Current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Current Heart & Stroke Approved BLS Provider Card upon hire.
- Previous Emergency Department experience required.
- Experience in triage and in-charge responsibilities required.
- ACLS certificate required at time of hire and ongoing.
- Completion of an on-site sponsored course is required within one year of hire date.
- Successful completion of Canadian Emergency Nursing Certification Exam would be an asset.
- Successful completion of post-diploma Emergency courses, TNCC, ENPC, PALS, would be an asset.
- Basic ECG interpretation and 12 lead ECG application and interpretation preferred.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the position.
- Satisfactory employment and attendance record required.
