Job Summary
The Medical Device Reprocessing Department at Halton Healthcare is seeking a skilled Medical Device Reprocessing Technician to join our team. As a Medical Device Reprocessing Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and effective reprocessing of medical devices.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure that medical devices are properly cleaned, disinfected, and sterilized to meet the highest standards of quality and safety.
- Operate and maintain reprocessing equipment, including washer disinfectors and steam sterilizers.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure that medical devices are properly prepared for use.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance the reprocessing process.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with healthcare teams to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
Requirements
- Minimum grade 12 education required.
- Current certificate from a recognized college Medical Device Reprocessing Course required.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Demonstrated experience using reprocessing equipment.
- Excellent communication skills - both oral and written English.
- Aptitude for working with delicate and heavy equipment.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the position.
- Satisfactory employment and attendance record required.
