Responsibilities:
- Provide nursing care to patients and their families in our pediatric clinics
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations to identify patient needs
- Develop and implement educational programs to promote healthy behaviors and disease prevention
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes
Requirements:
- Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- ACLS certification an asset
- Current PALS certificate preferred
- Current PEARS certificate preferred
- Experience with pediatric nursing required
- Excellent assessment skills with newborn, pediatric, and adult populations
- Experience in ambulatory care nursing, OR nursing, or emergency nursing is an asset
- Recent 3 years minimum outpatient setting/clinic experience highly preferred
- Experience supporting procedural-based clinics, including therapeutic phlebotomy and critical assessment skills required
- Proficient in venipuncture and IVs in adult and pediatric populations
- Proficient with medication calculation and administration skills with newborn, pediatric, and adult populations
- Demonstrated ability to assist and support breastfeeding women. Breastfeeding Certification 1 & 2 an asset.
- Commitment to Family Centered Care and demonstrated ability to work with families
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
- Demonstrates critical thinking skills, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
- Works independently and interdependently within a diverse healthcare team in a fast-paced environment
- Diplomacy and public relations skills required
- Demonstrated commitment to professional development and a strong knowledge of policy and practice standards
- Satisfactory employment and attendance record
- Tri-site coverage based on operational needs
- Other duties as assigned
