Responsibilities:
  • Provide nursing care to patients and their families in our pediatric clinics
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
  • Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations to identify patient needs
  • Develop and implement educational programs to promote healthy behaviors and disease prevention
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes

Requirements:
  • Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • ACLS certification an asset
  • Current PALS certificate preferred
  • Current PEARS certificate preferred
  • Experience with pediatric nursing required
  • Excellent assessment skills with newborn, pediatric, and adult populations
  • Experience in ambulatory care nursing, OR nursing, or emergency nursing is an asset
  • Recent 3 years minimum outpatient setting/clinic experience highly preferred
  • Experience supporting procedural-based clinics, including therapeutic phlebotomy and critical assessment skills required
  • Proficient in venipuncture and IVs in adult and pediatric populations
  • Proficient with medication calculation and administration skills with newborn, pediatric, and adult populations
  • Demonstrated ability to assist and support breastfeeding women. Breastfeeding Certification 1 & 2 an asset.
  • Commitment to Family Centered Care and demonstrated ability to work with families
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrates critical thinking skills, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
  • Works independently and interdependently within a diverse healthcare team in a fast-paced environment
  • Diplomacy and public relations skills required
  • Demonstrated commitment to professional development and a strong knowledge of policy and practice standards
  • Satisfactory employment and attendance record
  • Tri-site coverage based on operational needs
  • Other duties as assigned
