Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and Co-ordinate Activities

Supervise and co-ordinate the activities of staff who prepare and portion food, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.

Train and Develop Staff

Train staff in job duties, sanitation and safety procedures, and provide ongoing coaching and feedback to ensure that they have the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in their roles.

Quality Control and Assurance

Ensure that food and service meet quality control standards, and take corrective action when necessary to maintain high standards.

Customer Service

Address customers' complaints or concerns in a professional and courteous manner, and take steps to resolve issues promptly and efficiently.

Record Keeping and Reporting

Maintain accurate records of stock, repairs, sales, and wastage, and provide regular reports to management on key performance indicators.

Work Environment

The Food Service Supervisor will work in a fast-paced environment, with a combination of sitting, standing, and walking. The ability to work under pressure and maintain a high level of productivity in a dynamic environment is essential.

Requirements
  • Education and Experience

Secondary (high) school graduation certificate and 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a food service establishment.

Work Setting

Food service establishment, coffee shop, or similar environment.

Supervision

5-10 people, including food service counter attendants and food preparers.

Personal Suitability

Client focus, efficient interpersonal skills, excellent oral communication, flexibility, and a team player attitude.

Language and Work Term

The language of work is English, and the work term is permanent. The hours of work are 30 to 40 hours per week.
