The Opportunity:

Scope of the Position:

The Counter Sales Representative will be responsible for generating revenue through the sale of HVAC parts, equipment, and supplies over the phone and in-store.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides technical support to customers, ensuring their needs are met and exceeded.
  • Answers customer inquiries and identifies products to meet their requirements.
  • Actively promotes products and services to customers, driving sales and revenue growth.
  • May load and unload shipments of products, ensuring timely and efficient delivery.
  • Processes customer orders, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Maintains inventory levels by recording quantities used and determining product needs.
  • Informs customers of standard procedures or resolution of issues.
  • Determines the best method to resolve problems, ensuring customer satisfaction and company adherence to policies.
  • Practices safe material handling techniques, ensuring a safe working environment.
  • Generates invoices for sales orders, ensuring accurate and timely billing.
  • Participates in a call schedule for after-hours customer service, providing support and assistance as needed.

    Skills and Qualifications:

    • Possesses excellent customer service skills, with a focus on building strong relationships.
    • Must have or be able to obtain a valid Class 5 driver's license, ensuring safe and efficient transportation of products.
    • Demonstrates an understanding of effective sales methods, driving revenue growth and customer satisfaction.
    • Possesses knowledge of HVAC systems and the ability to demonstrate and discuss with customers, ensuring informed purchasing decisions.
    • Has a working knowledge and complete understanding of how to process orders, quotes, credits, and backorders on the computer, ensuring efficient and accurate transactions.
    • Understands basic inventory, warehousing, and stocking procedures, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of products.
    • Must be able to handle multiple tasks, prioritizing and managing time effectively.
    • Works easily with others in a fast-paced work environment, ensuring teamwork and collaboration.
    • Demonstrates effective communication skills (verbal, written, and listening), ensuring clear and concise communication with customers and colleagues.
    • Is energetic and self-motivated, driving sales and revenue growth.
    • Maintains a business-like manner at all times, ensuring professionalism and integrity.
    • Dedicated to continuous improvement, seeking opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
    • Possesses basic Microsoft Office skills, ensuring efficient and effective use of technology.
