Job Summary

The Oncology Unit at Hamilton Health Sciences is seeking a skilled Registered Practical Nurse to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and support to adults with solid tumor malignancies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and evaluate patient care needs and provide nursing care according to established standards and protocols.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Provide education and support to patients and families on cancer treatment and management.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
  • Contribute to a positive and supportive work environment that promotes teamwork and professional growth.
Requirements
  • Current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Practical Nurse.
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
  • Demonstrated ability to work safely with biohazardous materials.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage workload in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Recent experience in oncology patient care or a related field.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
