About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Director to lead our commercial mortgage lending team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for driving the profitability of our commercial term and CMHC insured construction lending programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Originate conventional and insured commercial mortgage opportunities nationally through direct relationships and the commercial broker network.
  • Critically assess loan applications and recommend them for approval, managing approved transactions through the commitment and funding stages of the loan life cycle.
  • Build, maintain, and manage relationships with clients, including existing clients, new business opportunities, and industry events.
  • Originate transactions with a demonstrated track record in marketing and deal negotiations.
  • Lead CMHC applications for Certificates of Insurance and manage the CMHC insurance process.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience in the commercial mortgage market, with prior experience, an existing client base, and a proven track record originating commercial mortgages.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with colleagues and work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint.
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative, confidence, and decisiveness, with familiarity with CMHC policy and the multi-family marketplace.
