About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Director, Commercial Mortgages to join our team at MCAP Group of Companies. As a key member of our Commercial Mortgage team, you will be responsible for driving the profitability of our commercial term and CMHC insured construction lending programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Originate conventional and insured commercial mortgage opportunities nationally through direct relationships and the commercial broker network.
  • Critically assess loan applications and recommend them for approval, managing approved transactions through the commitment and funding stages of the loan life cycle.
  • Build, maintain, and manage relationships with clients, including existing clients, new business, and market participants.
  • Lead CMHC applications for Certificates of Insurance and manage the CMHC insurance process.
  • Perform site inspections and oversee the progress of loans through all stages from inception to funding.
  • Ensure assigned portfolio is up to date on Salesforce contact management platform.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 to 7 years experience in the commercial mortgage market with prior experience, an existing client base, and a proven track record originating commercial mortgages with in-depth CMHC multi-family term and construction experience preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with colleagues and work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint.
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative, confidence, and decisiveness, with familiarity with CMHC policy and the multi-family marketplace an asset.
