Job Title: Senior Director, Commercial Mortgage Lending

MCAP Group of Companies is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Director, Commercial Mortgage Lending to join our team. As a key member of our commercial mortgage lending team, you will be responsible for driving the profitability of our commercial term and CMHC insured construction lending programs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Originate conventional and insured commercial mortgage opportunities nationally through direct relationships and the commercial broker network.
  • Develop, maintain, and manage relationships with borrowers, brokers, and other market participants.
  • Critically assess loan applications and recommend said applications for approval.
  • Manage approved transactions through the commitment and funding stages of the loan life cycle.
  • Build, maintain, and manage relationships with clients.
  • Provide input into new product initiatives based on market needs.
  • Secure mortgage loan applications from borrowers and brokers.
  • Add and expand selectively to the MCAP/CMHC Approved Correspondent network.
  • Originate and structure commercial mortgages that are placed with MCAP investors.
  • Liaise with Investment Management to understand various investor requirements for loan quality and pricing.
  • Support Investment Management in obtaining investor loan approval.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 5 to 7 years experience in the commercial mortgage market with prior experience, an existing client base, and a proven track record originating commercial mortgages.
  • CMHC multi-family term and construction experience preferred.
  • Ability to work independently in an environment with an ability to build a rapport with colleagues and work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Proficient with MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with CMHC policy and the multi-family marketplace is an asset.
