At MCAP Group of Companies, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Director, Commercial Mortgage Lending to join our team. As a key member of our commercial mortgage lending team, you will be responsible for driving the profitability of our commercial term and CMHC insured construction lending programs.
Key Responsibilities:- Originate conventional and insured commercial mortgage opportunities nationally through direct relationships and the commercial broker network.
- Develop, maintain, and manage relationships with borrowers, brokers, and other market participants.
- Critically assess loan applications and recommend them for approval, managing approved transactions through the commitment and funding stages of the loan life cycle.
- Build and maintain relationships with clients, providing input into new product initiatives based on market needs.
- Secure mortgage loan applications from borrowers and brokers, and add and expand selectively to the MCAP/CMHC Approved Correspondent network.
- Originate and structure commercial mortgages that are placed with MCAP investors, liaising with Investment Management to understand investor requirements for loan quality and pricing.
- Support Investment Management in obtaining investor loan approval, including participation in presentations as required.
- Manage CMHC insurance process, perform site inspections, and oversee the progress of loans through all stages from inception to funding.
- Ensure assigned portfolio is up to date on Salesforce contact management platform, and provide input and feedback on commercial marketing materials.
- Minimum of 5 to 7 years experience in the commercial mortgage market, with prior experience, an existing client base, and a proven track record originating commercial mortgages with in-depth CMHC multi-family term and construction experience.
- Ability to work independently in an environment with an ability to build a rapport with colleagues and work collaboratively in a team environment, developing trusted relationships in particular with Investment Management, Funding, and Portfolio Management departments.
- Proficient with MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and familiarity with CMHC policy and the multi-family marketplace is an asset.
- Ability to originate transactions with a demonstrated track in marketing and deal negotiations, and a Bachelor's Degree in Business preferred.
