Key Responsibilities:
- Mentor and guide junior staff.
- Lead a team of technical systems designers.
- Engage in business development, including the preparation of proposals, briefs, reports, and project specifications.
- Conduct workshops and presentations throughout project lifecycles and for new business acquisition.
- Manage diverse projects, including Master Planning, Functional Programming, Design Bid-Build, Design Build, IPD, and Alternative Finance Projects.
- Oversee Systems Studies, Concept Design Narratives, Schematic Design, Detailed Design, Construction Documents, Tender Review, Project Management, and Building Technologies systems design, particularly in:
- IT Cabling Infrastructure
- Network and IMIT Systems
- Audio Visual Systems
- Collaborate with Project Managers, Engineers, and local Canadian Designers to integrate concepts into drawing packages.
- Contribute to maintaining WSP's quality assurance methodologies.
Qualifications:
- Over 10 years of experience in a Building Technologies consultancy.
- Familiarity with Smart buildings, IT infrastructure, Security, AV, and other building systems is advantageous.
- Experience in business development, including proposal and bid writing.
- Strong writing skills, particularly in report and specification writing.
- Ability to create and interpret technical documents, including reports, diagrams, drawings, and specifications.
- Capability to obtain a Public Works and Government Services Canada Level 2 security clearance and work in a secured environment.
- Proficiency in the MS Office Suite.
- Willingness to travel as required for project assignments.
- A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle for client site visits.
