About the Role

Xendara Career College is seeking a highly skilled Career Guidance Specialist to join our team. As a Career Guidance Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting students in their educational and career journeys.

Key Responsibilities
  • Counsel Students: Provide guidance and support to students regarding educational, career, or vocational issues, helping them to make informed decisions about their future.
  • Coordinate Services: Coordinate the provision of counseling and information services to students, parents, and teachers, ensuring that all stakeholders receive the support they need.
  • Participate in Staff Meetings: Participate in staff meetings, educational conferences, and workshops to stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices.
  • Develop Guidance Programs: Develop and implement guidance and counseling programs that meet the needs of our students and align with the college's goals.
  • Recruit Graduates: Arrange for the recruitment of graduating students by employers, helping to secure job placements and career opportunities.
  • Provide Academic Information: Visit colleges and secondary schools to provide academic information to prospective students, their parents, and educational institutions, promoting Xendara Career College's programs and services.
  • Deliver Presentations: Prepare and deliver presentations at conferences, workshops, and symposia, sharing your expertise and knowledge with a wider audience.
  • Personal Suitability: Demonstrate excellent client focus, efficient interpersonal skills, excellent oral and written communication, initiative, judgment, organization, and reliability, ensuring that you are a valuable asset to our team.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a related role.
  • Work Setting: Post-secondary educational institution.
  • Work Language: English.
  • Hours: 30 to 44 hours per week.
