About Our Opportunity

As the Department's training consultant, you will guide all aspects of the development and delivery of our training programs. This includes the completion of needs assessments, course design and development, implementation, and program evaluation and review.

You will lead departmental teams on a wide range of training programs as well as have the opportunity to manage projects to ensure they are completed on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation of training programs to support the skill development of Nova Scotia Environment and Climate Change staff.
  • Conduct needs assessments, develop course materials, and deliver training programs to meet the needs of our employees.
  • Collaborate with departmental teams to identify training needs and develop solutions.
  • Manage projects to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of training programs.
Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in a related field and 5 years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the design and delivery of training for adult learners (including e-learning training material), conducting research, and providing advice regarding training issues.
  • An advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office, spreadsheets, graphics, and presentation software.
  • Self-starting initiative, resourcefulness, and ability to adapt to change.
