We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Staff Scheduler to join our team at Health Sciences Centre. As a Staff Scheduler, you will be responsible for ensuring adequate staffing levels are maintained for our units, while providing efficient clerical support as assigned.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain staffing and payroll processes utilizing ESP/SAP, including assigning staff to new rotations/schedules under the direction of the Manager.
- Place calls to staff as required to cover unmet baseline requirements, short-term absences, and workload.
- Offer additional shifts to staff in accordance with applicable Collective Agreements.
- Ensure data integrity and accuracy in ESP/SAP and all other aspects relating to staffing, alerting the Manager of any discrepancies.
- Prioritize workload and follow Contingency guidelines utilizing a manual staffing and payroll system when required.
- Generate reports and type a variety of correspondence, policies, and utilize appropriate PC applications such as word processing, database, and spreadsheets.
- One year of previous staff scheduling experience is required.
- Complete high school education, Manitoba standards, is required.
- Successful completion of a recognized secretarial training program or equivalent combination of education and experience as recognized by the Centre is required.
- Typing 45 wpm is required.
- Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Access) is required.
- Medical terminology is preferred.
- Knowledge of Environment for Scheduling Personnel (ESP) or other service-based staff scheduling systems is required.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required.
- Preference will be given to those applicants competent in an Indigenous language and/or knowledge in Indigenous customs, traditions, and values.
- Must understand and communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing.
