Job Description

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Project Manager to lead our Systems projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for executing projects according to scope, schedule, cost, and quality constraints.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Project Planning: Develop an overall project execution plan, communications plan, procurement plan, risk register, schedules, budgets, etc.
  • Project Coordination: Coordinate all operational duties associated with project execution, including design, procurement, assembly, shipment, and site support.
  • Project Monitoring and Control: Responsible for ongoing project monitoring and control, including cost control, forecasting, schedule, change management, and reporting.
  • Communication: Timely and consistent communication with all stakeholders (internal and external) to ensure efficient workflows and mutually beneficial working relationships.
  • Reporting: Generate weekly/monthly and quarterly project-based reports and status updates.
  • Problem-Solving: Take a proactive role in resolving problems and propose solutions based on the client's reality to improve the service's efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Financial Management: Review project budget (PBU), control project costs and profitability, revenue forecasts, and issue/project invoices.
  • Team Leadership: Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear manner.
  • Coaching and Mentoring: Coach, mentor, motivate, and supervise project team members and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.
  • Project Closure: Manage the process of project completion, acceptance, and closure.
  • Compliance: Uphold all company policies, procedures, and best practices. Comply with Carmeuse Systems ISO requirements. Ensure and enforce compliance to all company, client, and legislated safety policies and procedures.
Requirements:
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of project management experience in the mining and industrial industry.
  • Education: Bachelor of Engineering or a technical science (Mechanical, Industrial, or Process engineering preferred). Registration is an asset.
  • Language: Fluency in spoken and written English. Bilingual in Spanish preferred; the ability to understand and to make oneself understood in Spanish.
  • Skills: Integrity, self-awareness, courage, respect, compassion, and resilience. Learning agility and the ability to flex influence while communicating the vision, showing gratitude, and collaborating effectively.
  • Certifications: PMP certification is an asset.
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Engineering Documents: Ability to read engineering documents (such as process and instrumentation diagrams, mechanical and electrical drawings).
  • Problem-Solving: Methodical and logical in systematic approach to solving problems.
  • Project Execution: Experience executing projects in a multi-disciplinary environment.
  • Project Management: Ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Teamwork: Demonstrable teamwork and maturity with a strong work ethic.
  • Commercial Understanding: Strong commercial understanding of engineering contracts and project management.
  • Analytical Skills: Analytical and detailed-oriented; excellent organizational skills.
  • Leadership: Ability to inspire and motivate the team, recognize high performance, and encourage creativity and risk-taking.
  • Software Skills: Strong knowledge of MS Project and MS Office. Excellent communication skills.
