The Role

As a Senior Water Resources Engineer at KGS Group, you will work alongside industry leaders on major water resources developments in Canada. You will be part of a dynamic team, collaborating with experts to deliver projects from proposal to completion. This role offers significant opportunities for professional growth, including managing teams, overseeing projects, client interaction, business development, and more.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Develop hydrologic and hydraulic analyses and modelling techniques.
  • Design hydraulic structures, water conveyance systems, and storage systems.
  • Prepare technical reports, drawings, and specifications for projects.
  • Compile bid/proposal packages and prepare professional presentations.
  • Collaborate with project teams and other disciplines within the company.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients and help manage water resources projects from proposal to completion.
  • Pursue new business opportunities with existing and new clients.
  • Manage and mentor junior staff members.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Water Resources Engineering from a recognized university (a Master's degree is an asset).
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in water resources engineering, with demonstrated project management skills.
  • Previous consulting experience is preferred.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Windows Microsoft Office and strong working knowledge of water resources engineering principles.
  • Demonstrated experience in hydrologic and hydraulic studies, designs, and numerical modeling using industry-standard software.
  • Experience in numerical modeling and programming skills is an asset.
  • Organizational skills, time management, and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent English verbal and written communication skills; proficiency in French is an asset.
  • Candidate must be registered as a Professional Engineer in Manitoba, Saskatchewan, or another Canadian province.
  • A valid driver's license and willingness to travel to job sites outside the city.
