We are seeking an experienced Epidemiologist to join our team at ICES Central. This full-time opportunity offers flexible remote work arrangements anywhere in Ontario, with the option to come into the office when required.

Job Summary:

The Epidemiologist will provide epidemiological input and general project management for assigned projects. This role involves working collaboratively with the project team and under the direction of the Principal Investigator (PI) or Staff Scientist.

Duties:

  • Develop, plan, and implement study/project protocols under the direction of the PI or Staff Scientist;
  • Assist in grant/project submissions, including budget preparation;
  • Analyze data using statistical software according to ICES SAS Programming Standards independently and/or in collaboration with team members or faculty;
  • Prepare and review analytic output, as well as write reports, abstracts, poster presentations, peer-reviewed publications, and other relevant deliverables;
  • Interface with internal and external stakeholders in support of the project;
  • Facilitate the uptake of knowledge by local decision-makers across Ontario through presentation of findings, education sessions, and one-on-one interactions.

Requirements:

  • Masters degree in Epidemiology, Public Health, or a related field;
  • Experience in managing clinical, epidemiological, and/or health services research projects, and/or experience in health planning and decision support;
  • Working knowledge of common research and data presentation methodologies, bio-statistical analytic methods applied to health services research, and data collection and/or management methodologies;
  • Understanding of bio-statistical analytic techniques;
  • SAS programming skills are an asset.

Additional Information:

This role requires the ability to work effectively and efficiently according to ICES policies, procedures, standards, workflow processes, documents, and requirements. The successful candidate must reside within Ontario while working remotely and be able to come into the office if required from time to time. ICES continues to support flexible remote work arrangements anywhere in Ontario.
