Mental Health Consultation Liaison Nurse Clinician

We are seeking a highly skilled Mental Health Consultation Liaison Nurse Clinician to join our team at Southlake Regional Health Centre. As a consultative expert, you will collaborate with staff in non-mental health areas of the hospital to provide support and guidance in the care and treatment of patients with behavioral and/or psychiatric/mental health concerns.
Key Responsibilities- Provide consultation and support to staff in non-mental health areas of the hospital
- Assess and develop treatment plans for patients with behavioral and/or psychiatric/mental health concerns
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care
- Develop and implement education programs for staff and patients
- Conduct risk assessments and develop strategies to mitigate risks
- Current RN Certificate of Registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario
- CNA certification in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the College of Nurses Professional Standards of Practice and Standards of Psychiatric/Mental Health Clinical Nursing Practice
- Three to five years' recent experience in acute mental health
- Current experience in medicine and geriatric fields
- Strong working knowledge of the Mental Health Act
- Current BCLS certification
- Crisis Prevention Institute Certificate or equivalent
