Estimator for Construction Projects

We are seeking an experienced Estimator to join our team at Summa Architectural & Structural Metal Inc. as a key member of our estimating department.
Job Summary:The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing estimates of labour and/or material costs, operating CADD and other computer software systems, and providing economic feasibility studies and preliminary estimates for proposed projects.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare detailed estimates of labour and material costs for construction projects
- Operate CADD and other computer software systems to create estimates and reports
- Conduct economic feasibility studies and provide preliminary estimates for proposed projects
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure accurate estimates and project timelines
- Monitor and adjust contract expenditures to ensure project profitability
- Prepare and maintain a directory of supplies and trade contractors
- Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate estimates
- College/CEGEP education or equivalent experience
- 1-2 years of experience in estimating or a related field
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and costs
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
