Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to oversee our diverse engineering teams. This role is pivotal in ensuring that project outputs meet quality standards and are delivered on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

  • Utilize innovative thinking and sound judgment to foresee and resolve design challenges.
  • Approve engineering drawings, standards, specifications, and procedures.
  • Track the performance of the engineering team, providing constructive feedback and support as needed.
  • Prepare design budgets and schedules for project estimates.
  • Facilitate design reviews throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Support pre-commissioning activities and manage field engineering tasks.
  • Oversee the review of vendor documentation and ensure effective communication with engineering teams.
  • Manage multi-disciplinary design resources to meet project deadlines and budget constraints.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant standards and regulations in design outputs.
  • Compile and maintain project reporting in line with company and client expectations.
  • Mentor engineers and promote professional development within the team.
  • Provide technical insights for proposals and marketing initiatives.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives aligned with business objectives.
  • Maintain open communication with all stakeholders involved in projects.
  • Lead and guide the design team to achieve project goals.
  • Travel as required to support business operations.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Degree in Engineering or equivalent qualification.
  • At least 15 years of post-graduate experience in mineral processing or metallurgical design.
  • Proven leadership capabilities in managing change within complex environments.
  • Experience in mentoring and developing team members.
  • Ability to assess work practices and implement improvements effectively.
  • Self-motivated with a track record of delivering high-quality results with minimal supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail and expertise in engineering documentation.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Understanding of business dynamics and adaptability to various environments.
