About the Role

RocMar Engineering Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Structural Engineer to join our team as a Project Supervisor. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of construction projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Supervision: Act as project or site supervisor for land survey or construction work, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Site Visits: Conduct site visits to gather relevant information, assess project progress, and identify potential issues.
  • Technical Analysis: Conduct technical analyses of survey and field data for development of topographic, soil, hydrological or other information and prepare reports.
  • Client Communication: Confer with clients and other members of the engineering team and conduct research to determine project requirements.
  • Construction Specifications: Develop construction specifications and procedures, ensuring compliance with building codes and regulations.
  • Schedule Management: Establish and monitor construction work schedules, ensuring timely completion of projects.
  • Design Review: Interpret, review, and approve survey and civil design work, ensuring accuracy and quality.
  • Contract Management: Prepare contract documents and review and evaluate tenders for construction projects.
  • Team Supervision: Supervise technicians, technologists, and other engineers, reviewing and approving designs, calculations, and cost estimates.
  • Quality Control: Ensure construction plans meet guidelines and specifications of building codes and other regulations.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Registration: Registration as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) by a provincial or territorial association.
  • Experience: 5 years or more of experience in structural engineering, project supervision, or a related field.
  • Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office, and project management software, with experience in cloud-based platforms and Primavera.
