About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Mental Health Clinician to join our team at The Royal Mental Health Centre. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to our clients and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assessment and Treatment: Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients with serious mental illness, develop and implement treatment plans, and provide ongoing support and education to clients and their families.
  • Crisis Intervention and Risk Assessment: Identify and mitigate risks, develop crisis intervention plans, and work collaboratively with the clinical team to ensure the safety and well-being of clients.
  • Group Work and Education: Design and lead groups, provide education and treatment in individual and group settings, and engage clients and their families in clinical interventions and risk reduction strategies.
  • Collaboration and Liaison: Liaise with residential settings, community resources, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination and discharge planning.
  • Advocacy and Support: Advocate on behalf of clients and their families for appropriate services and resources, and provide emotional support and guidance throughout the treatment process.
  • Documentation and Data Management: Maintain accurate and comprehensive clinical records, and collect and analyze data to inform treatment decisions and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Professional Development: Stay current with best practices, attend educational events, and participate in research and program evaluation to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • Education: Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.
  • Registration: Registration and good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers.
  • Experience: Minimum of three years of clinical experience in a mental health setting, with a focus on working with adults with serious mental illness.
  • Skills: Strong assessment and treatment skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Language: English language proficiency (A- level) in oral expression, oral comprehension, reading comprehension, and written expression. Bilingualism (French/English) is considered an asset.
