Development Manager Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Development Manager to join our team at TalentSphere Staffing Solutions. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for conceiving, managing, and delivering high-quality urban infill development projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with our team to research, design, and develop concepts for urban infill developments and new initiatives.
  • Undertake and lead detailed feasibility studies to determine project viability.
  • Draft and submit Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for necessary consultants.
  • Facilitate all Rezoning, Subdivision, Development Variance Permit, and Development Permit Applications.
  • Maintain communication with municipal authorities and public stakeholders.
  • Liaise with municipal authorities and community stakeholders to mitigate political and public liabilities.
  • Prepare and/or review all correspondence to be sent to municipal authorities and public stakeholders.
  • Act as primary contact for all city correspondence pertaining to development projects.
  • Conduct project management duties such as budgeting, project timelines, site inspections, contract review and management, and project administration functions.
  • Ensure all applications are being processed and are proceeding according to schedule.
  • Review/coordinate Disclosure Statements and subsequent amendments, Strata Plans, Strata Budgets, etc.
  • Manage all leads for potential commercial/retail tenants and resulting negotiations.
  • Facilitate and manage construction financing requirements.
  • Manage Disclosure Statement process for new developments.
  • Manage the selection of a strata property manager and setup of building amenities.
  • Drive projects from acquisition through to completion while maintaining objectives.
Requirements:
  • 3+ years of experience in fields related to Architecture, Urban Planning, Design, Engineering, Interior Design, Marketing, and Business.
  • Post-secondary education in a related field.
  • Successful experience launching a diverse range of development projects.
  • Strong knowledge of urban real estate pre-sales, sales, construction, and marketing programs.
  • Experience with municipal approvals, community engagement, and design and numbers.
