We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Development Manager to join our team at Starlight Investments. As a key member of our Western Canada Development team, you will be responsible for leading and mentoring a team of development professionals to deliver on a substantial portfolio of residential and mixed-use projects.
Key Responsibilities- Project Leadership: Lead the due diligence, feasibility analysis, and determination of development potential for subject sites, including the investigation of existing permissions and surrounding applications.
- Entitlement Strategies: Develop and implement entitlement strategies, including municipal and agency approvals, official community plan amendments, zoning by-law amendments, variances to bylaws, and consents.
- Project Coordination: Coordinate and track various development agreements with municipalities and external agencies, and review technical drawings and reports for completeness and adherence to specified criteria.
- Reporting and Communication: Prepare and present regular project reports, including monthly and quarterly partner reports and cash flow reports, and attend meetings to produce agenda and minutes.
- Team Management: Lead a team of development professionals, prioritize and manage multiple development projects, and review and manage the release of Letters of Credit and other development-related securities.
- Education: University degree in Business, Engineering, or Urban Planning.
- Experience: 5 years of real estate development experience, including management of approval processes, working with external consultants, municipalities, and other governmental agencies.
- Skills: Excellent knowledge of construction/architectural concepts, pro-formas, and cash flows, as well as the ability to lead, prioritize, and manage competing deadlines.
