About the Role

WP Osborne Executive Search Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Senior Development Manager to join our team. As a key member of our Western Canada Development team, you will be responsible for leading and mentoring a team of experienced development professionals to deliver on a substantial portfolio of residential and mixed-use projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the due diligence and feasibility analysis of development potential, including the investigation of existing permissions on subject sites.
  • Develop and implement entitlement strategies, including municipal and agency approvals, official community plan amendments, zoning by-law amendments, variances to bylaws, and consents.
  • Provide leadership in the preparation and tracking of Request for Proposals and comparative analysis of submitted proposals.
  • Coordinate and track various development agreements with municipalities and external agencies.
  • Review technical drawings and reports, ensuring completeness and adherence to specified criteria.
  • Responsible for project ideation through to permitting and all entitlements, working collaboratively with Investments, Construction, and Asset Management.
  • Prepare and present regular project reports, including monthly and quarterly partner reports and cash flow reports.
  • Assist with project-related presentations, printing, file management, and file sharing.
  • Attend meetings, produce agendas, and minutes, including action items for timely circulation to the project team.
  • Lead the preparation and maintenance of project schedules, providing regular updates to projected timelines and associated internal tracking reports.
  • Prioritize and manage multiple development projects and a diversified workload under prescribed timeframes.
  • Review and manage the release of Letters of Credit and other development-related securities.
Requirements
  • University degree in Business, Engineering, or Urban Planning.
  • 5 years of real estate development experience, including management of approval processes, working with external consultants, municipalities, and other governmental agencies.
  • Excellent knowledge of construction/architectural concepts and pro-formas and cash flows.
  • Ability to lead, prioritize, and manage competing short and long-term deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
