Ruminant Dairy Technical Specialist

Parrish & Heimbecker, Limited is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to fill the role of Ruminant Dairy Technical Specialist for our New-Life Mills division based in Ontario.

About the Role

The successful candidate will work directly with dairy producers to generate sales on dairy farms by achieving their goals both personally from a tonnage perspective and on farm as outlined by the producers they work with.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, support, and implement dairy sales strategies to drive sales in Southwestern Ontario.
  • Provide regular market intelligence to the Ruminant Business Manager to maintain competitive advantage.
  • Organize dairy farm visits to evaluate and determine farm needs and then coordinate with our dairy nutritionist to help build appropriate resources.
  • Partner with dairy farm managers to identify issues and create solutions to support farm goals.
  • Promote and educate customers/prospects on the benefits of using NLM products for dairy.
  • Ration balancing using AMTS software program, while working collaboratively with a central nutrition team.
  • Organize dairy producer meetings and be actively involved at industry trade shows.
  • Continuing education, attending conferences and/or professional development opportunities.
Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working in the dairy industry.
  • Possess a valid Canadian driver's licence in good standing authorizing you to drive independently during your employment.
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian Feed Industry.
  • Knowledge in small ruminants is considered an asset.
  • Solid understanding of Canadian quota system including rules and regulations within Ontario/P5.
  • Personable with the ability to communicate well with people of diverse background and levels of authority.
