Senior Process Engineer – Dairy

AtkinsRéalis is seeking an experienced Senior Process Engineer to join our team in the Toronto region GTA. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing dairy manufacturing processes and networks.

Your Role within the Team:

  • Act as a technical expert in dairy manufacturing and design
  • Conception and process engineering for clients in the dairy sector
  • Review or evaluation of processes, user requirements, and technical specifications
  • Participate in the process architecture development
  • Execute mass and energy balances sheets
  • Execute process flow diagrams (PFD)
  • Process and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs)
  • Identification of appropriate technologies, selections, and capacities
  • Write and review equipment specifications
  • Preparation of production cost estimates
  • Preparation of purchase and installation quotes for process equipment
  • Evaluate bid from suppliers and contractors
  • Validate suppliers' shop drawings
  • Support project managers
  • Act as a process discipline lead on larger projects
  • On-site support during construction, delivery, and execution of projects
  • Participate in professional services proposals Knowledge transfer and mentoring

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Bachelor in mechanical, chemical, or food engineering
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in food and dairy process engineering
  • Prior experience in engineering consulting
  • Knowledge in the HACCP guidelines
  • Knowledge of CIP systems and piping designs and all pasteurization processes and technologies (HTST, UP, UHT technologies)
  • Capable of designing dairy processes and networks
  • A good collaborator who communicates effectively through active listening
  • Is proficient in English (spoken and written) and French (spoken)
