Frontier School Division is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Resource Teacher to join our team.
Job Summary:
We are looking for a qualified educator to provide support to students with diverse learning needs. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement individualized education plans.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide academic support to students with diverse learning needs
- Develop and implement individualized education plans
- Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to ensure student success
- Assess student learning needs and develop strategies to support student achievement
- Communicate with parents and guardians to ensure student progress
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Education degree and preferably a Master's Degree in Education or related field
- Valid Manitoba Teaching Certificate (or eligibility for)
- Manitoba Special Education certificate or certification in progress
- At least five years of teaching experience
- Previous experience as a Resource Teacher
- Knowledge of Indigenous Way of Life
- Excellent understanding of current Manitoba curricula and differentiated instruction
- Knowledge and training in formal and informal assessment
- Familiar with appropriate educational programming
- Ability to complete provincial documentation requirements for appropriate educational programming
- Ability to interpret educational and cognitive assessments
- Willingness to be trained in intervention programs presently in place
- A commitment to continue to support on-going programs in the school
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
