We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Resource Teacher to join our team at Frontier School Division.
Job Summary:
The Resource Teacher will provide support to students with diverse learning needs, working collaboratively with teachers and other staff to develop and implement individualized education plans.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide instructional support to students with special needs
- Develop and implement individualized education plans
- Collaborate with teachers and other staff to ensure student success
- Assist with assessment and evaluation of student progress
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Education degree and preferably a Master's Degree in Education or related field
- Valid Manitoba Teaching Certificate (or eligibility for)
- Manitoba Special Education certificate or certification in progress
- At least five years of teaching experience
- Previous experience as a Resource Teacher
- Knowledge of Indigenous Way of Life
- Excellent understanding of current Manitoba curricula and differentiated instruction
- Knowledge and training in formal and informal assessment
- Familiar with appropriate educational programming
- Ability to complete provincial documentation requirements for appropriate educational programming
- Ability to interpret educational and cognitive assessments
- Willingness to be trained in intervention programs presently in place
- A commitment to continue to support on-going programs in the school
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
