Job Summary
The University of British Columbia is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Grants Coordinator. This role will be responsible for providing administrative support to the Centre for heart Lung Innovation (HLI) in the preparation and submission of research grants and academic proposals.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and coordinate research grant and academic proposals, letters of intent, background documentation, research program rationales, and other documents.
- Assist in the preparation and submission of research-related documents, including CVs and other supporting materials.
- Provide administrative support to the HLI Director and Associate Director, as well as the HLI Grants Team members.
- Collaborate with internal and external contacts to coordinate complex meetings and events.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders, including researchers, faculty, and staff.
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline.
- Minimum of two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Intermediate to advanced skills using a variety of computerized software packages, including Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to keyboard at 50 WPM.
- Demonstrated ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to use and post on internet and social media platforms.
- Ability to plan, organize, problem-solve and prioritize work.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to work in a team environment, and with minimal supervision.
- Highly effective interpersonal and organizational skills.
