Grant Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Grant Specialist to join our team at Go Recruitment. As a Grant Specialist, you will play a critical role in researching and identifying grant opportunities, developing and submitting grant proposals, and managing grant relationships with funding organizations.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct thorough research on Canadian, US, and European government funding programs available for for-profit organizations, including application information and company alignment with specific funding opportunities.
- Liaise with external funding organizations to identify opportunities for funding for-profit projects and confirm financial and reporting requirements.
- Analyze and interpret grant/fund requirements, developing a clear and focused strategy, business case, and clarifying issues as needed.
- Drive the internal teams' development and completion of grant applications, ensuring the process is followed and timelines are defined and communicated.
- Write strategic, concise, and accurate content and edit/update existing content for grant/fund responses, as applicable to the submission.
- Own the proposal production process, including gaining internal approvals, finalizing deliverables, quality control, coordination of delivery, and aligning all efforts with internal and external professionals to ensure on-time, compliant, and winning submissions.
- Once a grant is secured, continue to drive the relationship with the funding organization.
- Ownership of all grant reporting during the project, including market, technical, and detailed financial reports.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- A degree in Business, Agriculture, or another relevant discipline.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in researching grant opportunities, developing proposals, and writing successful grant applications.
- Understanding of accounting and finance practices, including the ability to interpret an income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statement.
- Experience in writing business cases.
- Strong decision-making skills, with the ability to work with limited information.
- Excellent business writing and presentation skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and tight timelines.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive payroll and financial information.
- Significant initiative and independence in carrying out project work.
Experience within the agriculture industry would be an asset.
