Job Summary

The University of British Columbia is seeking a highly skilled and organized individual to fill the role of Grants Facilitator and Coordinator. This position will be responsible for editing scientific grants, preparing CVs, and managing the submission of various research-related documents within the Centre for heart Lung Innovation (HLI).

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and coordinate research grant and academic proposals, letters of intent, background documentation, research program rationales, and other documents.
  • Assist the research grants administrative functions of the Centre, ensuring effective and efficient administrative functions in support of the Director's office.
  • Collaborate with the HLI Director and Associate Director, the HLI Director of Operations, and the HLI Grants Team members to achieve the goals of the Centre.
Requirements
  • Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Minimum of two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent judgement, initiative, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to engage in a collaborative and respectful manner.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to keyboard at 50 WPM.
  • Demonstrated ability at the senior administrative level and to provide support to Director and/or Operations Director.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to plan, organize, problem-solve and prioritize work.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work in a team environment, and with minimal supervision.
