The Mustard Seed Society is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Full-Time Addiction Recovery Specialist to join our team. This exciting opportunity is based in Saskatoon, with an estimated salary range of $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience.

About the Role

This critical role involves providing individualized support to residents struggling with addiction and homelessness. As an integral member of our team, you will develop meaningful relationships with clients, implementing evidence-based recovery modalities through one-on-one conversations and group sessions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with clients to establish comprehensive plans for managing acute physical withdrawal and addressing long-term needs.
  • May be required to provide guidance on court-mandated conditions and ensure timely reporting.
  • Identify unhealthy coping mechanisms in clients and provide education on alternative strategies to prevent relapse.
  • Implement de-escalation techniques and conflict resolution strategies as needed, ensuring a safe environment for all.
  • Maintain professional boundaries and adhere to organizational policies and guidelines outlined in our employment handbook.
Requirements
  • Diploma in Mental Health & Wellness or Addiction Counselling; related life/work experience is highly valued.
  • Knowledge of local recovery resources and services, particularly those serving Indigenous communities.
  • Strong administrative and computer skills, with proficiency in relevant software applications.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage crisis situations and staff performance.
