Job Overview

Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a skilled Youth Mental Health Specialist to join their team in Vancouver, BC. As a key member of the Youth Outreach Mental Health team, you will play a vital role in supporting the mental health and well-being of young individuals.

About the Role

This exciting opportunity allows you to leverage your expertise in mental health and youth development to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our clients. Your primary responsibilities will include working with community-based teams to develop prevention and intervention strategies, providing education services to schools and other service providers, and collaborating with local organizations to build capacity and promote healthy communities.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement prevention and intervention strategies for youth mental health
  • Provide education services to schools and other service providers on mental health and substance abuse
  • Collaborate with local organizations to build capacity and promote healthy communities
  • Attend program meetings, participate in continuing education, and maintain knowledge in mental illness and concurrent disorders
Requirements
  • Master's degree in behavioral science or related field
  • Three years' experience in mental health and/or substance abuse treatment/prevention in a youth and family setting
  • Valid BC Driver's License for local area travel
