Key Responsibilities
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living, promoting independence and enhancing their overall well-being.
  • Provide direct patient care within established standards of care, policies, and procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with healthcare teams to ensure comprehensive care and treatment.
Requirements
  • Minimum Grade 10 education, Manitoba standards required.
  • Successful completion of a recognized Health Care Aide course required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and colleagues.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply critical thinking skills and prioritize tasks.
  • Basic computer skills, including MS Word and Outlook.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience providing care to individuals with physical or cognitive impairments.
  • Knowledge of Indigenous customs, traditions, and values.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write French.
Working Conditions

This position involves extensive physical activity, including standing, transferring, and transporting patients and equipment handling between 10-20 kg on a regular basis. You may encounter aggressive and/or agitated individuals and exposure to disease, blood, body fluids, pest infestation, radiation, toxic materials, noise, allergens, residual smoke, pets, and pet dander.

Salary and Benefits

The estimated annual salary for this position is approximately $73,400 to $84,300, based on a 0.70 FTE and an hourly rate of $22.612 to $23.990. This term position may end earlier as outlined in your collective agreement.
