Job Overview

The Winnipeg Regional Health Authority is seeking a skilled Health Care Support Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide direct client care and support individuals with physical or cognitive impairments in various settings.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Assist clients with activities of daily living, providing personalized care and support
  • Work collaboratively with healthcare teams to develop and implement comprehensive care plans
  • Communicate effectively with clients, families, and colleagues to ensure seamless care delivery
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to enhance skills and knowledge
Requirements:
  • Grade 10 education (Manitoba standards) or equivalent required
  • Successful completion of a recognized Health Care Aide course required
  • Experience working with individuals with physical or cognitive impairments preferred
  • Basic computer skills, including MS Word and Outlook, required
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Physical ability to perform tasks involving standing, transferring, and transporting patients and equipment
Working Conditions:
  • May encounter aggressive and/or agitated individuals
  • May be exposed to disease, blood, body fluids, and other hazardous materials
  • Position involves shift work and weekend hours
  • Travel between client homes may be required
Salary Information:

The salary for this position ranges from $20.09 to $23.99 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
