**Job Summary**

Brandt Tractor Ltd is seeking a seasoned professional to lead our Cambridge Construction & Forestry Service Department as a Field Operations Manager.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our service technicians, ensuring quality repair work, and providing expert advice to the Service Manager on technician skills and training needs.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • **Organize and Prioritize Work**: Ensure efficient workflow and quality control of service work performed by technicians.
  • **Supervise Service Technicians**: Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to service technicians to enhance their skills and productivity.
  • **Maintain a Clean and Organized Work Environment**: Ensure a safe and efficient workspace for technicians and customers.
  • **Advise and Mentor Technicians**: Provide expert advice and guidance to technicians on complex repairs and technical issues.
  • **Commitment to Customer Service**: Foster a culture of customer satisfaction and service excellence within the service department.
  • **Effective Communication**: Communicate effectively with customers, technicians, and other branch personnel to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • **Establish and Maintain On-Call Schedules**: Develop and manage on-call schedules to ensure adequate coverage and minimize downtime.
  • **Manage Costs and Ensure Profitability**: Analyze and optimize departmental costs to ensure profitability and efficiency.
  • **Open and Close Work Orders**: Manage work orders from start to finish, ensuring accurate documentation and warranty preparation.
  • **Other Duties as Required**: Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Service Manager to support the department's goals and objectives.

**Required Skills**

  • **Strong Organizational Skills**: Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and maintain a high level of organization.
  • **Basic Microsoft Office Skills**: Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • **Availability and Flexibility**: Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required.
  • **Physical Demands**: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks as required.

**Required Experience**

  • **Previous Mechanical Experience**: Proven experience in a heavy equipment environment, preferably in a service department setting.
  • **Certified Journeyman**: Certified Journeyman in the Heavy Duty Equipment technician trade or equivalent designated trade.
  • **Service Department Experience**: Experience working in a service department, preferably in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • **Familiarity with John Deere and Competitive Products**: Familiarity with John Deere and competitive products, including their features and technical specifications.
  • **Forklift License**: Possession of a valid forklift license, an asset.
  • **Strong Organizational Skills**: Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and maintain a high level of organization.
